Packaging Machine Operator sets up and operates a packaging machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Fills, secures, and labels containers according to company and/or customer specifications. Being a Packaging Machine Operator verifies goods packaged against package invoices. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Additionally, Packaging Machine Operator adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion. Documents inventory number and weight, and organizes packages. May make minor repairs to packaging equipment as needed. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Packaging Machine Operator works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Work Environment
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times due to running of machines.
    Physical Demands
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, lift push or pull up to 50 lbs.
    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary based on shift.
    Monday through Thursday, 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 am

    Required Education and Experience
    • The ability to read and write in English (Required)
    • High School diploma or GED (Required)
    • Prior manufacturing supervisory experience (Preferred)
    • Prior Quality Control experience (Preferred)
    • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Concepts (Desired)
    • A high school diploma or GED (Required)
    • A previous experience in packaging or other manufacturing operations is a plus
