PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Production Manager provides strategic and tactical planning and execution for the Packaging Department. He/she also forecasts, develops and manages budgets, resource planning and capacity planning. He/she, along with direct and indirect staffs plans, organizes and manages packaging related operations. He/she is responsible for efficient and timely production of demand and customer requirements, within all quality and safety standards. He/she insures proper staffing and skill set levels as well as providing appropriate leadership, coaching/mentorship and discipline in executing the production plan and facility objectives.
The Production Manager is also responsible for Compliance within his/her areas of responsibility. Additionally, he/she is responsible for insuring necessary training/skill set alignment is in place to meet short and long term need and insuring succession planning and people development are in place.
Finally, the Production Manager is responsible for insuring his organization is deeply embedded in continuous improvement and process innovation.

The Production Manager shall be held accountable for the compliance, accuracy and timeliness of responsibilities and work assigned. He/she is responsible the tangible manufacture/packaging of commercial requirements that support current, short term and longer-term budget needs.
