Summary

The Packaging Supervisor ensures efficient and effective operations within the packaging department including working with the Packaging Manager on the development of new packaging procedures for new products and packaging as the business needs evolve. This role will cover day-to-day supervision of packaging operations and the implementation of new and updated packaging SOPs. This individual will train and manage packaging personnel to meet a consistent, high standard of work.

Responsibilities

• Supervises processes, personnel and equipment required to package cannabis flower, edibles, and concentrates.
• Maintains and improves operating procedures related to packaging pre-pack cannabis flower, bulk cannabis flower, infused edibles, and cannabis concentrates.
• Ensures proper machine maintenance/cleaning, compliance procedures, and data tracking according to the needs of the business.
• Adheres to state regulated compliance regulations, compliance software, and management of staff and schedule.
• Oversees the compliance checks on finished goods and packages prior to transferring to logistics/delivery
• Supervises packaging operations to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Represents the department manager in leadership/work groups when the manager cannot attend.
• Works with department leads and manager to maintain consistent material inventories.
• Orders equipment and supplies when manager is unavailable.
• Keeps detailed SOPs for all packaging tasks and processes up to date.
• Organizes SOPs into written displays, and references in the form of duties lists, standards, and manuals to set a clear expectation for the staff.
• Assists with training new and existing packaging personnel on new SOPs and duties, as well as organize a training programs and manuals for new hires.
• Coordinates with Extraction, Kitchen, Quality Control and Sales management to determine production schedule and maintain an efficient flow of product.
• Assists with interviewing, hiring, reviews, and corrective action when necessary
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Prior experience in management a team of hourly employees
• Prior experience in training team members
• Experience with kitchen or manufacturing management is strongly preferred
• Proficient computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and comfortable learning new software

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check
• Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally.
• Must perform under high pressure situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, always evolving, and challenging environment
• Excellent attention to detail - we operate in a heavily regulated industry with strict regulations that must be met with every package, without fail
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to organize and write clear procedures
• Effective time-management skills and the ability to multi-task and delegate
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude
• Available to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Reliable transportation
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions, the ability to work in low light situations. Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, push/pull, repetitive use of hands, grasping use of hands, visual activity. Exposure to limited hazardous chemicals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,500.00 - $50,000.00 per year
