Park Naturalist plans, develops, and conducts programs to inform the public of historical, natural, and scientific features concerning national, state, or local parks. May require a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Park Naturalist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This is a SEASONAL, full-time or part-time position and reports to the Facilities Manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Guest Interactions
- Strictly enforce quiet hours
- Assist in emergencies
- Promptly respond to guest concerns, resolve/de-escalate conflicts, and document issues within our reservations management system; escalating issues as needed:
- Drunk or disorderly guests, Noise complaints, Animal complaints, and verification of reservation to ensure all parties allowed on the premises
- Assist with simple maintenance issues and late arrivals and check-ins
- Other Essential Duties
- Complete incident reports as required
- Ensuring buildings, equipment, and amenities are locked around the park
- Understand reservations system to view occupancy and openings
- Document any guest issues in reservation systems and record for the next shift
- Participate in other projects and activities as assigned
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE- Previous security experience required
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS- Basic computer skills
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Work with minimal supervision
- Valid Driver’s License required
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Regularly move throughout the park
- Continuously climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and crawl
- Able to manipulate fingers, hands, and arms to reach, carry, lift, etc.
- Constant exposure to outside weather conditions
