May require a bachelor's degree and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Park Naturalist is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. District open space includes two outdoor pools, biking and walking paths, a dog park and sizable space for outdoor athletic programming.
The District covers over 11 square miles and serves a region of over a quarter million residents in Mount Prospect and surrounding communities.
We are currently looking for a full-time Greenhouse and Grounds Maintenance Technician for the District's Friendship Park Conservatory.
The Greenhouse and Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting with duties pertaining to the management of District floral areas, including planting and maintaining floral beds, providing plant care and general maintenance in the greenhouse and atrium, and performing repair and maintenance of the exterior of the Friendship Park Conservatory.
Candidates must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver's license, and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment physical with a drug screen and back / lifting evaluation test, and a criminal background check.

The starting pay rate is $19-21 per hour, depending on qualifications.
