GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for Parking Supervisors to help manage our beach parking facilities. This job involves the collection and recording of daily parking fees, organizing the parking of cars, and maintaining the cleanliness of the parking lots and surrounding facility areas. In this position, you will primarily serve as the supervisor of 20 to 30 parking attendants at Penfield Beach, Jennings Beach, Sasco Beach, and Lake Mohegan. You may also answer questions from patrons about the surrounding Fairfield area(s). When there are events in the area, you will have to deal with a large volume of cars, so the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is crucial. The parking attendants schedule rotates weekly, but the schedule WILL include BOTH Saturdays and Sundays. The daily period will involve 8 to 10 hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays depending on site location. Each rotation will involve from 35 to 38 hours per week. The work schedule begins on Memorial Day weekend and continues until Labor Day weekend.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain highest level of customer service
• Maintain visible presence in the attendant booth while regularly interact with & engage guests
• Schedule all parking staff from Memorial Day through Labor Day
• Daily communication to parking attendant staff
• Collect/record daily summary of sales/revenue
• Maintaining safety and organization of the parking lots, surrounding areas, and facilities.
• Monitor the number of cars that enter and exit the lot
• Take payments from patrons
• Turn away cars when the lot is full
• Count the money at the end of your shift
• Answer questions from patrons
• Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with Town of Fairfield policies and procedures; completes related reports as required.
• Knows, follows, and enforces all Town of Fairfield parking policies, rules, regulations, and procedures
• Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed. Clean and store equipment per branch procedures
• Hosts/Attends all mandatory meetings and trainings
• Acts as on call supervisor for all attendants. Daily parking attendant hours range from 10am to 6pm and/or 8pm depending on site location.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess high school diploma or GED
• The ability to work nights and weekends
• Patience for dealing with busy crowd
• Prior cashier or customer service preferred
• Experience supervising staff
