Parts Manager supports the parts department with technical, procedural, inventory control, and parts exchange support. Manages material and parts in accordance with production schedules and commitments. Being a Parts Manager monitors and troubleshoots all backorders and communicates and provides technical assistance to parts sales, customers, and branches. Monitors the parts inventory database and places orders as needed. Additionally, Parts Manager reviews progress reports on schedule status, parts usage, and inventory and makes necessary adjustments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Parts Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Parts Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Parts Manager oversees the entire parts department, which includes the aesthetics of the department. It is their responsibility to make sure the showroom displays are maintained properly, well-kept, and fully stocked with product. The Parts Manager needs to have completed physical inventory and discrepancy reports.
The Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Parts department, overseeing the parts counter personnel, overseeing the parts administrative assistant and/or the shipping and receiving clerk. The Parts Manager is responsible for controlling inventory at the Mason Tractor location in Waverly Hall, GA. The Parts Manager is responsible for returning parts to the manufacturer before their scheduled deadline for returns. They must also follow the manufacturers scheduled deadlines for submitting stock orders.
The Parts Manager is expected to maintain coordination with their respective service manager for emergency orders and large parts orders for the shop. Manufacturers schedule deadlines for promo parts orders, and it is the Parts Manager's responsibility to make sure they have submitted promo parts orders before the manufacturers deadline. It is the Parts Managers responsibility to attend scheduled training classes/sessions/meetings with our manufacturers. Reconciling Open Counter Ticket Status Report on a weekly basis is also a responsibility of the Parts Manager.
