Designs and oversees outreach and educational programs and events to support the community. Additionally, Pastor coordinates volunteers to ensure community outreach goals are fulfilled. Performs religious services, leads prayer, and conducts worship. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a regional or chapter manager. The Pastor typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Pastor typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Associate Pastor of Worship (Staff Elder)

    Introduction

    Description

    As a member of the elder team, join in serving as one of the spiritual leaders of the church, shepherding the flock and exercising oversight over all aspects of the body (1 Peter 5 : 1-4), particularly through the ministry of the word and prayer (Acts 6 : 4;

    2 Timothy 4 : 1-2; James 5 : -).

    As associate pastor, support and augment the ministry of the lead pastor for the equipping of the congregation toward fulfillment of the mission of First Evangelical Free Church (FEFC) through administration of worship services and as able, biblical instruction and discipleship opportunities.

    Reports to lead pastor first, then elder board, then the Congregation as a whole per the FEFC Constitution

    Salary to be negotiated based on experience and education.

    Qualifications

    The associate pastor and his wife, if he is married, by virtue of their call to serve at FEFC, shall be members of the church.

    As members, they must sign the membership covenant.

    Must be a mature man of true Christian character who submits to Christ as the head of the church (Colossians 1 : ), is led by the Holy Spirit, and fulfills the qualifications for elders / pastors / overseers in 1 Timothy 3 : 1-7, Titus 1 : 5-9, 1 Peter 5 : 1-5 (please read these passages!).

    Successfully pass a background check as part of FEFC’s child safety protection policy.

    Must be licensed or ordained in the EFCA or willing to pursue licensure and / or ordination with the EFCA.

    Accredited Seminary Master’s Degree (or equivalent) desired with a successful history of worship ministry leadership experience of at least two years paid or five years unpaid experience.

    Be an excellent musician, singer, and communicator for large and small groups, able to lead and guide them into biblical worship.

    Be proficient in using and administering worship software (e.g., Planning Center, Proclaim, etc.), information technology, mobile devices, sound, lighting, and live streaming technologies.

    Responsibilities

    Skillfully lead the congregation during worship services through inspirational song selections, appropriate teaching, and consistent team preparation and participation.

    Organize and schedule worship services using appropriate software; coordinate worship teams.

    Recruit, disciple, and develop worship ministry and tech team volunteers.

    As able, share in Sunday preaching as much as desired up to one week per month.

    Actively participate in the body life of the FEFC (e.g., Join Equipping Ministry, Worship Services, First Community meals, Men’s Discipleship Groups, etc.).

    Fulfill the responsibilities of elder leadership as described in the FEFC constitution.

    Meet weekly with the pastor(s) for prayer, communication, fellowship, and planning / evaluation.

    Assist the Lead Pastor with counseling and visitation as needed or requested by the Elders.

    Other pastoral duties as necessary.
