Patent Attorney determines potential of granting patents on inventions or trademarks, and monitors possibility of infringement. Responsible for preparing and filing patent applications and trademark registrations, litigating pending applications and registrations, and reporting possible violations. Being a Patent Attorney prosecutes violations of organization's registrations and/or patents. Requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Additionally, Patent Attorney requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patent Attorney work is closely managed. This is a great opportunity for a new attorney to get hands-on experience and grow a client base, all while making a competitive salary with a low billable-hour requirement.
Subject-matter experience is not necessary, but some background in construction and real estate, with experience in both transactions and litigation, is helpful.
Duties include:
- Managing litigation case load focused on real estate and construction matters, including all stages of discovery and motion practice.
- Assisting with transactional real estate and construction matters, including performing due diligence and drafting contracts and related documents.
- Developing and managing client relationships.
Experience: 3-5 years
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
