Open MRI of Pueblo is seeking a Medical Receptionist/Patient Coordinator to work the afternoon/evening shifts and possible weekends. Qualified applicants must be able to perform all clerical duties required to fully schedule patients for diagnostic radiology procedures in accordance with Center policies, practices and protocols.

• Possess excellent oral communication skills with the ability to effectively portray a customer service focus when dealing with internal and external customers.

• Applicable experience in a medical setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.

Following are basic job duties:

• Greet patients at the registration desk in a prompt, professional and friendly manner. This includes verbally verifying all patient demographics, securing signatures on applicable authorizations, histories and other forms, and preparing patient file for technologist.
• Collect copayments from patients to include researching balances due if necessary, providing accurate change, documenting receipts properly and processing credit card payments.
• Maintain front-desk cash drawer, ensuring cash count accuracy and security at all times.
• Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls to schedule patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Obtain accurate patient demographics and verify accuracy with each patient contact.
• Scrutinize, verify and scan orders into the radiology information system pursuant center scheduling guidelines.
• Counsel referring physician offices about diagnostic imaging procedures, prep instructions, pre-certification requirements and other key information to support the center’s scheduling process.
• Willingly adjust workflow pursuant to the work volumes and staffing availability of the center.
• Follow center HIPAA policies at all times.
• Provide excellent service to all customers (internal and external) with a positive, helpful attitude.
• Routinely check emails throughout the day.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
