    The Manager of AIU / YIU provides administrative and clinical management to both of the agency’s Evaluation and Treatment Facilities, which include the Adult Inpatient Unit and the Youth Inpatient Unit.

    This role ensures high-quality, well-coordinated clinical care is happening across departments and with community providers. Works to improve the operations of KMHS in support of its stated mission. Provides the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers. Actively participate as a member of the department’s managerial team.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Clinical Supervisor of AIU/YIU Mental Health Professionals, Child Mental Health Specialists, Peer Support Specialists and Discharge Planners

    Primary Responsibilities:


    • Administrative
    • Timesheets for direct employees
    • Timesheets are done for staff if the unit supervisor is out
    • Monitor time sheets for break compliance
    • Work with Director and Unit Supervisor to create, implement and train staff for programming on the unit and monitor programming is being completed
    • Work with Director to develop and implement new policies and procedures on the unit while also implementing the administrative and clinical policies of KMHS
    • Work with the staff to establish each program's yearly goals and ensure contract compliance. Participate in the Quality Program Review process.
    • Work with Director to train staff to audit requirements
    • Participate in developing and implementing agency treatment philosophy.
    • Work with Director to ensure coordination and continuity of care for KMHS clients and to assure a smooth transition of clients between services. Ensure adequate psychiatric consultation and clinical coverage for respective programs.
    • Staffing and supervision
    • Provide regular administrative and clinical supervision for all assigned staff. (Mental Health Professional, Child Mental Health Specialist, Peers, and Discharge Planner) Clinical supervision of SHIFT SUP/BHTS as needed.
    • Provide consistent direction and supervision to supervisees with a focus on the quality and continuity of clinical care. Recruit, hire, and develop qualified staff including ongoing coaching and timely performance appraisals.
    • Monitor clinical staff (Mental Health Professional, Child Mental Health Specialist, Peers, and Discharge Planner) documentation relative to client contacts is fully completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner, in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate on performance appraisals on all assigned staff including on-call BHT’s with Unit Sup
    • Monitor Relias: assigned trainings, compliance, due dates, etc.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    EDUCATION: Masters’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.

    EXPERIENCE: Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)

    This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

    LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor (can be obtained after employment)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)

    Business-rated insurance may be required if performing outreach duties.

    LICENSURE: Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC)
