Processes Patient and Insurance Payments 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Example of Essential Duties: 

1. Open and sort mail accordingly

1. Posting of patient checks 
2. Manually processing and posting patient credit cards
3. Download of patient portal payments and posting
4. Daily reconciliation of all processed payments

1. Assist other payment processors with payments as needed
2. Review patient and Insurance credits as needed
3. Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Required:

-  Proficient with credits and debits.  

-  Proficient on 10 key adding machine and on 10 key pad on CRT keyboard. 

-  Familiar with Explanation of Benefits

-  Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time.

-  Completes daily and monthly tasks within established time frame.

-  Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.  

-  Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.

-  Good communication skills.

-  Accuracy and attention to detail.

-  Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.

Education:  

- HS diploma or GED.

Preferred:

- 1-3 years insurance billing/reimbursement and data entry and/or payment processing experience preferred.
