Payroll Clerk prepares and processes payroll and associated information. Collates and verifies data and inputs into the payroll system. Being a Payroll Clerk updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Payroll Clerk works under moderate supervision. The Centralized Scheduler performs clerical duties with daily engagement from physician offices and patients. The scheduler schedules outpatient procedures for radiology and surgery. They recognize the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one and put the utmost quality in their duties each day. They will also have interactions with other departments within the organization on a daily basis.
Schedules appointments, for various hospital departments, including Radiology, Imaging Services,
Cardiology, Nuclear Med, Respiratory Therapy and Surgery Procedures. The scheduler receives routine functional guidance from the Central Scheduling Supervisor concerning community agencies and resources and to make appropriate patient referrals. Manual dexterity is required, as is the ability to concentrate on detail in the midst of other activity. The scheduler schedules approximately 50 patients per day, and has the authority to make appointments for hospital departments according to the schedules they provide. The scheduler will follow very specific protocols in scheduling and the collection of financial information. However, they will have to be alert constantly for special cases which they will normally refer to the Supervisor.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED
1-3 years medical background with knowledge of computer, fax, printer and multi-line phone systems required
Must also have knowledge of CPT codes and ICD-10 codes and Medical Terminology.
