Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Payroll & Benefits Coordinator will provide a full range of support services to the Hamilton and Functional HR and Payroll teams across the US. The Payroll & Benefits coordinator will participate in, and coordinate general payroll and HR activities, including areas of benefits, payroll, personnel actions, and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong, and proven results using data and analytics as foundational HR tools for continuous business improvement. This position is part of the Human Resources department reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. Tronox also offers a competitive benefits program, that allows you to design a program that meets your personal or family circumstances. You can enroll in benefits when you first join the Company, and you will have the opportunity to review and change your benefits each year during the enrollment period, usually held in the fall. 

    Duties/Responsibilities: 
    The successful candidate will be expected to:

    • Support and implement the modification of payroll processes.
    • Work in a collaborative regional and local team-based environment.
    • Assist in the validation of our bi-weekly payroll processing.
    • Verifying timekeeping records to ensure accuracy.
    • Obtain knowledge regarding compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
    • Facilitate new hire payroll and benefits orientations.
    • Participate in annual benefits open enrollment.
    • Support day to day employee payroll and benefit questions and inquiries.
    • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or Equivalent 
    • Strong math and analytical skills
    • Basic understanding of HRIS with strong technical and system aptitude
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, v-lookup, combo graphs, etc.)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication
    • Highly organized with attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask various projects and assignment.
    • Prior experience with health and welfare plan administration is a plus but not required.
    • Prior experience with Ceridian Dayforce also a plus but not required.

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds at times.
    • This is a full-time, on-site position.
