Position Overview: As the Sr. Manager of People Operations, you will spearhead the development and scaling of our people operations and recruiting functions. This pivotal role entails designing and executing programs to cultivate an inclusive, impactful, and rewarding experience for every member of our team. Reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources, you will lead the charge in shaping our people strategy, operationalizing it alongside a talented team, and championing our culture within a hybrid-remote environment. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned People Leader to collaborate closely with the senior leadership team, driving alignment on our talent roadmap and fostering a dynamic workplace where every individual can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll and Benefits Administration:
• Manage and oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and fringe benefits.
• Stay updated on employment laws and regulations, implementing necessary updates.
• Oversee benefits administration and compliance for a fully distributed workforce.
2. Managerial Oversight:
• Provide leadership and guidance to the HR Manager, HRIS Manager, and other HR team members.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
3. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
• Oversee the recruitment process, from job posting to onboarding.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and support workforce planning initiatives.
• Lead the recruiting function, ensuring a best-in-class candidate experience.
4. HRIS Management:
• Oversee the HRIS to streamline processes and enhance data integrity.
• Collaborate with the HRIS Manager to generate reports and analyze HR metrics.
• Optimize and maintain the integrity of people data and reporting.
5. Employee Relations and Compliance:
• Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies and procedures.
• Address employee relations issues, ensuring fair resolution.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Provide coaching and guidance to people managers on employee relations and performance.
6. Talent Management / Employee Engagement:
• Lead performance and talent management strategies.
• Design programs to foster connection and collaboration across a distributed team.
• Implement total rewards programs to attract and retain talent.
Must Haves:
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in People Operations or HR Business Partnering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in managing direct reports.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a multi-state environment.
• SHRM or HRCI certification is required.
• Strong understanding of HR disciplines and their impact.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• Experience designing and executing People strategies and programs.
Nice to Haves:
• Previous experience at a fast-growing tech company.
• Knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of HR functions, including payroll, benefits, recruitment, and HRIS.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
• This is HYBRID position and requires 2 days in our Austin, TX HQ
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
