POSITION SUMMARY: Provides education on physical activity using a variety of modalities to address factors such as goal setting and motivational strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides training and support to individuals and groups to implement effective physical fitness training programs.
• Instructs individuals and groups in the proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness, body composition and flexibility.
• Greets and communicates with clients while providing exemplary customer service to clientele utilizing the facility.
• Instructs patrons in the proper use of equipment and self-monitored progress by preparing written exercise prescriptions.
• Provides education, training and technical support to encourage physical activity and promotes and markets health promotion programs to the community members.
• Able to demonstrate proper use of equipment and exercises.
• Cleaning/sanitizing equipment and facility daily.
• Administers health screening and fitness assessments, exercise prescriptions, and proper exercise techniques.
• Organizes and manages all office functions, to include multiple concurrent projects effectively.
• Effectively communicates orally and in writing to facilitate demonstrations and presentations to groups and persons.
• Works with a variety of populations/age groups in a coordination role preferred.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement outreach activities within the community and organizations.
• Other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO:  Reports to Diabetes Director. This position does not possess supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able bend at the knees, crouch, stand for long intervals, and lift a minimum of fifty (50) lbs. Must possess the ability to perform training exercises inside and outdoors in various weather types.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: A majority of work will be physical by leading groups of people and individuals in exercises, indoors and outdoors possibly throughout entire work shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred: Nationally accredited Personal Training Certification.
• Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the fitness industry.
• Must have a Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and be insurable under the Comanche nation motor vehicle policy.
• Must be willing to submit to and pass drug testing.
• Must be willing to submit to background investigation which proves good moral character.
