    Job Description

    ARM is looking for a self-driven and energetic Staff Geologist who is looking to learn, grow and embodies an ownership mentality. As a Staff Geologist, you will collaborate with a team of multi-disciplined engineers and scientist, project managers, and other staff to provide a wide range of observation and testing services for a diverse set of projects and client base.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Testing, and description of soils, rocks, and cores and monitoring water quality with properly calibrated instruments.
    • Observe and document construction activities to assure compliance with technical specifications to include monitoring well, supply and/or injection well, and production/recovery well installations.
    • Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring.
    • Prepare daily field reports and test summaries documenting the work being performed.
    • Perform Phase I due diligence and Phase II environmental investigations and evaluations.
    • Support geophysical data collection and processing tasks.
    • Prepare cost estimates and proposal information as requested.
    • Collaborate with other team members to meet deliverables on project and obtain further knowledge and experiences.
    • Effectively communicate with key stake holders including project managers, project engineers, and other members of the project team.
    • Pro-actively recognize conditions and problems of non-routine nature, develop solutions, and seek guidance when needed.
    Job Requirements

    Base Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
    • G.I.T. certification preferred, but opportunity to obtain certification can be developed.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD a plus.
    • Possess excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
    • Team orientated with the ability to perform independent hands-on fieldwork.
    • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER, MSHA Surface Mining and/or Safeland training preferred.
    • A self-starter possessing strong communication, and organizational skills.
    • Desire to work on multiple projects in parallel rather than a single large project for months.
    • Requires travel to job sites and, on occasion, out of the local area overnight stays.
    • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds on a regular basis.
    • Desire to work outside in all climates and conditions.
    • Ability to walk and stand continuously throughout the day, often on uneven surfaces with frequent bending and stooping.
    • Valid Drivers license in good standing required.
