Summary:

The Petroleum Installation Technician oversees the installation or replacement underground petroleum storage tanks including associated machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
• Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation.
• Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools.
• Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to fueling systems.
• Analyze electronic and mechanical problems and repairs as necessary.
• Installs, programs and tests new equipment.
• Effectively manages, tracks, and reports on parts used n installation.
• Professionally supports customers by arriving on time, helping them understand technical issues, and developing creative solutions to equipment needs.
• Comply with Lock Out Tag Out and Confined Space Requirements.
• Other duties as assigned

Technical Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience working in service station or fueling equipment installation.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Certifications in Wayne or Gilbarco dispensers – preferred but not required.
• State petroleum installer license (current).

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. is required; Able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. is preferred.
• Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Able to climb ladders to heights over 14 feet.
• Able to be on your feet all day.
• Able to work inside and outside for extended periods while exposed to various weather conditions including temperatures ranging from 20 to 100 degrees.

Personal Capabilities:

• Able to travel with occasional overnights.

• Able to operate mechanical equipment and machines as described.

• Capable of accurately reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints.
• Able to comprehend and interpret equipment, operating, and maintenance manuals and instructions.

• Electrical Knowledge and excellent mechanical abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime which can include evenings and Saturdays.
