The Pharmacist supports the operations of the Pharmacy department including and ensuring operations are responsive, accurate and compliant. This position also assists the Director of Pharmacy in planning, and direction of operations of the Pharmacy department including, compliance, and strategic planning. This position collaborates with other members of Willow Springs Center to attain a level of clinical excellence as indicated in the Willow Springs Center mission.
The job duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Promotes a culture within the Pharmacy that is consistent with the overall facility and company philosophy of service excellence.
2. Ensures the use of accepted practices in compliance with regulatory, community and accreditation standards.
3. Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
4. Dispenses medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
5. Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspections; maintaining records for controlled substances; removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory; supervising the work results of support personnel; maintaining current registration; studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; advising management on needed actions.
6. Protects patients by adhering to infection-control protocols.
7. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
8. Other duties as necessary for the operation of the pharmacy department.
9. Partners with other departments to enhance services.
10. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, laws, acts and any other mandates.

Education: Graduation from an accredited program of pharmacy.
License: Valid current pharmacist license in the State of Nevada as well as a DEA permit.
Experience: 1-5 years of pharmacy experience. Prefer experience in psychiatric facility. Experience with operations and staff supervision preferred.
