Pharmacist - Retail reviews prescriptions and compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs according to regulatory requirements and guidelines in a retail environment. Responds to customers questions about medications and advises about drug safety and potential interactions. Being a Pharmacist - Retail manages the transfer of prescriptions, incoming physician calls, and drug utilization review. Ensures that pharmacy's patient and financial records are correctly input and maintained. Additionally, Pharmacist - Retail requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered pharmacist(RPh). Requires pharmacy practice. Pharmacist - Retail's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Description

    This is a PRN (as needed) role for Amberwell Pharmacy (Retail locations at Atchison, Hiawatha, and other locations)

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Retail Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care services to the patients including, but not limited to, oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing and proper documentation of patient medication therapy as well as providing drug information, patient information and oversight of information and dispensing systems. The Retail Pharmacist will work with the team to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations as well as proper storage and documentation of pharmaceuticals.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Experience:
      • Minimum Required Experience: Minimum 1 year experience
      • Preferred Experience: 2 year experience including 1 year management experience
    • Education:
      • Minimum Required Education: Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy; PharmD or RPh
      • Preferred Education: Doctor of Pharmacy
    • Licenses:
      • Minimum Required Licenses: Current Kansas Pharmacist License in good standing
      • Preferred Licenses: Kansas
    • Certifications:
      • Minimum Required: Immunization Certified, CPR certification
