The candidate to fill this role will have an integral role within the successful completion of metal finishing and plating by maintaining the chemical warehouse, supporting the laboratory, production departments, and serving as a backup for the Wastewater Treatment department; all while remaining in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
· High School diploma or GED
· 1-2 year’s related experience in Waste Water Treatment and/or Chemical Maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
· Have the ability to follow directions
· Computer experience required
· Attentiveness to detail and sensitivity to the nature of the position
· The ability to lift and/or move up from 70-100pounds with assistance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Weigh, deliver, and add chemicals to process lines as directed
· Receive chemical deliveries and maintain chemical warehouse in an organized, clean and safe manner.
· Perform cleaning of all contaminated equipment, containers, tanks, etc.
· Assist with moving and storing non/hazardous materials and chemicals.
· Provide a secured area to store chemicals/materials that have high specialty handling.
· Follow all DOT guidelines related to security of hazardous materials.
· Perform physical inventory of chemicals, emergency response equipment and personal protective equipment.
· Label incoming chemicals in accordance to MFT policies
· Complete annual trainings including but not limited to: RCRA Hazardous Waste Training (per EPA guidelines), and 24-Hour Emergency Response training as required by OSHA
· Work closely with the Wastewater Treatment Operator to learn role and serve as back up
· Serve as back up to the Laboratory Technician
· Collect samples and conduct color spectrometry analysis
· Maintain facility and modify processes to minimize the generation of non-hazardous and hazardous wastes
· Performs assigned tasks within a timely manner
· Understand ISO 9000 quality program and related requirements as applies to position.
· Provide safe working environment by complying with requirements established by safety committee and environmental group.
· Follow DOT guidelines related to security of hazardous materials
· Other duties as assigned
