Physical Therapy Director directs and coordinates the policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for the delivery of physical therapy programs to patients. Evaluates current physical therapy programs and investigates potential new or revised therapy programs to improve the quality of patient care. Being a Physical Therapy Director oversees budgeting, staffing, and the development and implementation of new physical therapy programs. Ensures the physical therapy division follows regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures. Additionally, Physical Therapy Director typically requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. Responsibilities:
- Assist physical therapists in providing patient care and treatment
- Set up and prepare treatment areas for therapy sessions
- Clean and maintain equipment and treatment areas
- Escort patients to and from therapy sessions
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining patient records
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required
