Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma assesses, plans, and provides patient care to patients in an emergency and trauma unit under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Typically reports to a physician. Physician Assistant - Emergency & Trauma's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Emergency Veterinary Hospital (EVH) of Eugene-Springfield, Oregon is seeking an experienced full-time Veterinary Assistant for our Sunday thru Wednesday Day shift. Shift time is 7am-5pm (4-10 schedule). Here at EVH we take great pride in providing a friendly, supportive, and enjoyable work environment while the challenges of emergency veterinary medicine allow employees to sharpen their skills.
Veterinary Assistants carry out DVM orders, conducting patient treatments, documentation on medical records, aid in client/doctor communication and maintain cleanliness of the hospital. Providing clear, respectful, compassionate communication to clients, patients and colleagues is of the greatest importance at the Emergency Veterinary Hospital of Eugene/Springfield!
We strive to provide safe (for animal and nurse) handling of cats, dogs, and exotics while maintaining optimal patient comfort.
Our Team
As a Veterinary Assistant, you are the backbone of our hospital operation! You will be working closely with our team including our Medical Director and Practice Owner/Partner, Dr. Max Rinaldi along with an experienced Hospital Administration team. Dr. Rinaldi, was raised in Nevada and received his DVM from Kansas State University, graduating in 2012. Dr. Rinaldi then spent a year in a rotating Internal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Washington State University, followed by a year internship in Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery at Louisiana State University. Dr. Rinaldi's professional interests include emergency and critical care, emergency surgery, and exotic animal medicine.
