Physician Assistant - Orthopedics jobs in Sioux Falls, SD
Physician Assistant - Orthopedics assesses, plans, and provides patient care under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Orthopedics orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, counsels on preventative care, assists in surgery, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Orthopedics requires a master's degree in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Typically reports to a Physician. Physician Assistant - Orthopedics's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Highlights:
- Student Loan Repayment: This position may be eligible for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, which helps you pay off your loans and save money. Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.

Job Summary
- Assist care for patients in the clinic setting.
- Develop long-term, rewarding relationships with a unique subset of patients.
- Work collaboratively with other clinic staff to solve practice-related problems.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from a Medical Assistant program with an Associate's degree or diploma preferred.
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.
Certification, Licensure, Registration
- National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAAMA); or
- National Registration as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT); or
- National Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association and Medical Assistant diploma.
Work Schedule
- 80 hours per 2 weeks
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- $18.50 - $25.75 per hour
