Physician - Dermatology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the human skin. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Dermatology performs a variety of laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various biological and chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological conditions. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Dermatology requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Dermatology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Experienced medical assistant needed at our growing dermatology clinic. We have 5 locations with our main location in Meridian, ID. Occasional travel to other clinics is REQUIRED. This will be a full-time or part-time position.

    Applicant must be a team player, have a positive attitude, be able to multi-task, be adaptable, and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Medical Assistant experience required. Dermatology and Mohs surgery experience preferred, although we are willing to train for the right applicant. Must be flexible and willing to travel to various locations if needed. Must have electronic medical records experience (EMA/Modernizing Medicine experience a plus).

    Responsibilities:

    All medically related work is under the direct supervision of the physician or other independently-licensed Medical Provider.

    • Performs nursing procedures under supervision of physician
    • Takes patient histories and vital signs
    • Transcribes
    • Assists physician and scribe in exam rooms and the surgical suite
    • prepares & escribes prescriptions under the supervision of the provider
    • Schedules patients occasionally
    • Escorts patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs
    • Gives instructions to patients as instructed by the physician
    • Ensures all related reports, labs and information is electronically uploaded into patients' medical records prior to their appointment
    • Keeps exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required Maintains inventory for the lab and exam rooms
    • Notifies supply coordinator of supply needs for lab, exam rooms, and cosmetic procedures
    • Takes telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls that are medically related
    • Triage and processes messages from patients and front office staff to physician
    • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
    • Provides assistance, if necessary, to the front desk
    • Requires travel with physician to out of area office
    • Report statistics as required
    • Completes Medication Prior Authorizations
    • Obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
    • Respond and comply to requests for information
    • Complete other clerical duties as assigned
    • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality to meet HIPA guidelines
    • Be able to adhere to OSHA and CLIA guidelines

    Medical assistants must have knowledge of:

    • Medical terminology
    • Spanish a plus
    • Grammar, spelling, and punctuation
    • Knowledge of EHRs
    • Knowledge regarding basic pharmaceuticals
    • Medical transcribing

    • High School diploma
    • Medical assistant certification (preferred)

    • Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
    • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
