Physician - Dermatology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the human skin. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Dermatology performs a variety of laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various biological and chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological conditions. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Dermatology requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Dermatology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Reports to: Clinical Supervisor/Site Manager who has total responsibility/accountability for the role of the medical assistant, including: training, validation of competencies, delegation, supervision and evaluation.
JOB SUMMARY:
Work directly under the supervision of the Physician and Clinical Supervisor. Assist physician in examinations and procedures, in addition to functioning as a medical scribe in the electronic medical record. Reinforces and provides verbal and written patient education, as needed, in direct reflection of Physician orders. Responsible for maintaining clean, well equipped exam and or procedure rooms. Performing coolsculpting , laser hair removal , xtrac, blu light , chemical peels , microneedling . Assist provider with PRP , injectables, surgical procedures , and a variety of lasers. Medical Assistant and scribe in a fast paced general and cosmetic dermatology clinic.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other tasks as deemed necessary by Physician/Physician Assistant and the Clinical Supervisor/Site Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Certification or license as a healthcare professional, Medical Assistant, Nurse Aide or Surgical Technician, preferred. Maintaining professional certification is an expectation of the job and a requirement to work. If not already certified, obtaining and maintaining credentials may be a condition of hire and would then become a subsequent job requirement.
