Physician - Dermatology examines and diagnoses disorders and diseases of the human skin. Prescribes and administers patient medications. Being a Physician - Dermatology performs a variety of laboratory procedures, examines sample tissues, and uses various biological and chemical analyses to identify harmful organisms or pathological conditions. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. Additionally, Physician - Dermatology requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Dermatology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Part/Full Time Medical Assistant
Primary function is to assist the physician with clinical and administrative duties
Clinical duties:
· Assisting medical provider during patient exams
· Assisting with procedures during exams
· Obtaining medical histories
· Discussing treatment procedures, pathology & lab results with patients
· Instructing patients on proper use of medications & authorizing prescription refills
· Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician or P.A.
· Removing sutures
Administrative duties may consist of the following:
· Greeting patients
· Inputting and accessing information for medical database
· Updating and filing patient medical records
· Scheduling appointments as needed
· Responding to patient requests via phone, fax, etc. in a timely manner
Qualifications:
· Minimum high school diploma
· 1-2 years experience working in a medical/Dermatology office preferred
· Must be able to communicate in English
· Knowledge with utilizing EHR (Modernizing medicine preferred) specifically in Dermatology
Pay is $16-$18 per hour depending on experience. Office location is at Baptist Medical Center.
