The American Academy of Ophthalmology is looking for a Data Specialist. The Data Specialist provides day-to-day data integrity in the membership database. The staff is responsible to create reports, update key metrics, and manage processes to resolve data anomalies and maintain data integrity. Additionally, as a member of the Member Services team, the Data Specialist supports the implementation and execution of membership strategies to enhance membership recruitment and retention campaigns.
Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and coordinate data management and maintenance of member records in the Academy database.

Create and maintain standard operational procedures for data entry/changes and data dictionary for field codes.

Coordinate and execute strategies to maintain data integrity, including resolving data anomalies and duplicate records.

Collaborate with IT to audit and import member data from various data collection sources to database.

Support the Member Services Manager to refine processes supporting data entry, integration and visualization.

Provide data analysis and operational support to enhance membership recruitment and retention campaigns as well as benefits utilization assessments.

Assist the Director of Membership and Customer Service and Member Services Manager with the identification of data and metrics to evaluate success of member engagement campaigns and strategies.

Maintain reference documents and lead training to increase staff’s understanding and usage of membership data.

Coordinate the implementation of member surveys.

Maintain and update committee records to ensure data accuracy and compliance to Academy policies.

Coordinate the promotion and administration of the Academy Mailing List Rental Service (annual meeting pre-registrant and general Academy lists) to achieve budgeted revenue target.)

As a member of the Member Services team serve as the first point of contact for member inquiries and requests (e.g., membership benefits, application, renewal, website login interface, membership reclassification, etc.)

Ensure data integrity of member records in the Academy database.
Requirements:

Strong proficiency with CRM database systems and relational database report writing such as Business Objects (2 Years of experience or more)

Experience with quantitative analysis and data visualization

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI)

Accurate data entry skills

Capable of multi-tasking several different projects

College Degree in a relevant field

Experience working in a non-profit preferred.

Ability to speak and write in a foreign language professionally, clearly and concisely, preferably Spanish (optional)

Remote Schedule with manager approval. This position is eligible for up to 2 remote workdays per week.

Salary: $86,376 - $90,923
