Job Summary
Providing administrative support and coordination of activities for specific teams of people. May include but not limited to answering telephone, taking messages and answering routine questions. Provide a broad range of support to the Radiation team; including Management, Nursing, Radiation Therapists, and Radiation Oncologists
· Provide support for Medical Oncology as needed (facilitate meetings, supply management, etc)
· Prioritize workload based on daily patient and department needs
· Triage and document incoming patient calls for the best possible patient experience
· Assist with patient transportation
· Maintain documents and records for the department (proficiency in Microsoft Office suite)
· Schedule and communicate patient appointments
· Order and maintain department supplies
· Work with insurance companies for prior approval of radiation treatment plans and diagnostic imaging
· Manage Cancer Center Apartment tenant occupancy and monthly reporting
Reviews and validates insurance eligibility, prior authorization and/or referral of radiation procedures; determines if insurance meets prior authorization criteria. Responsible for assuring that prior authorization for medical services, including imaging and radiation therapy plans, are completed, confirmed, and documented. Obtains diagnosis(es)/CPT code(s) from medical chart and/or provider office. Contacts third party payer to determine appropriate prior authorization process. Works closely with provider offices to obtain and clarify documentation to demonstrate medical necessity. Assures all required referrals are in place; may work on outgoing referrals for care outside Sanford Health.
Compose, type, and distribute meeting notes, routine correspondence, presentations, billing, reimbursement, or monthly reports. Maintaining vacation schedule and managing schedules for the department. Order and dispense supplies. May perform payroll functions, such as maintaining timekeeping information, processing and submitting to payroll. May maintain master copies of company policy and procedure manuals; keeping them up-to-date.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Applicable experience preferred.
Based on facility needs, may require a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
