  • Position Summary:

    Responsible for conduting acceptance testing of newly acquired imaging equipment for the following modalities: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Gamma Camera and/or Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), and non-imaging equipment (dose calibrator, well counter, thyroid probe).
    The imaging physicist is to develop/revise and maintain robust quality assurance (QA) programs for the aforementioned modalities. These QA programs have to satisfy the Joint Commission (TJC) requirements, state regulations, and, when applicable, the American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation requirements.
    Other responsibilities include 1) CT protocol reviews, 2) shielding design and verification for CT, PET, SPECT, and nuclear medicine facility, 3) calculation of patient and fetal doses, upon request, for CT and nuclear medicine procedures (PET, SPECT, and radionuclide therapy), and 4) other excellence projects that utilizing expertise from medical physicists


    Position Qualification:

    Master's degree in Medical Physics or related discipline.
    Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Physics preferred

    3 to 5 yrs.

    Healthcare/Medical - Radiology (Imaging and Therapy)

    General knowledge of radiation safety and regulations.
