Here at American Mechanical Solutions (AMS) we are seeking experienced pipefitters who want to work for a company that is constantly growing and making a name for themselves.

Requirements:

• Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions under limited supervision.
• Must be able to properly cut pipe and operate a threader.
• Inspect and test installed systems and pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other approved methods.
• Plan sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
• Assemble and install a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools.
• Individuals MUST know how to braze copper.
• Secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools.
• Install and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and piping.
• Test piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules and all company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of basic operation piping systems.
• Inspect and test the installed pipelines and systems, using pressure gauge and other approved methods.
• Hanging the proper support to hold the pipes in place.
• Review the blueprints and schematics to determine the most efficient but safest way.
• Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety.
• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
