Plan Design Specialist works closely with clients to design group health, dental and/or life insurance plans to create an overall benefit package. Works alongside underwriters, but is not an underwriter role. Being a Plan Design Specialist monitors and analyzes cost trends. May handle more complex plan design. Additionally, Plan Design Specialist requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plan Design Specialist gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Plans and executes informational meetings, social activities and community outreach programs. Promotes the Geisinger brand and legacy in the community in order to foster brand trust and social engagement. Supports physician panel growth, activity calendar development and open house events at various sites. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with community partners and clinicians for the benefit of Geisinger programs and clinical enterprise services. Performs hands-on outreach activities or placed in a host clinic site to take on similar duties, specific to patient services. Meets with both current and prospective patients and members in group settings to educate and inform about Geisinger.
