Planned Gift Director - Higher Ed. develops and manages a planned giving program for a college or university that generates donor interest and inquiries and translates into current and future planned gifts. Plans and administers giving programs that include deferred giving, estate planning, bequest donations, and other types of giving. Being a Planned Gift Director - Higher Ed. cultivates and solicits planned giving prospects. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Planned Gift Director - Higher Ed. typically reports to top management. The Planned Gift Director - Higher Ed. typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Director of Hospital Gift Shop and Volunteer Program

  • Director will be responsible for managing the hospital gift shop as a business inside the hospital. Including, but not limited to ordering, receiving, pricing, overseeing sales, inventory control and daily accounting of sales. Director is also responsible for the hospital’s Volunteer Program and the scheduling of volunteers for the gift shop, hospital, and the Nursing Home Activity Department on occasion.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • High School diploma or higher education
    • Five years of experience in retail merchandising preferred, either as manager or salesclerk
    • Willing to take and follow instructions
    • Must be honest and self-motivated
    • Must be punctual and dependable
    • Must possess excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and strong sales abilities
    • Able to recruit and maintain volunteer schedule for the hospital, gift shop and nursing home
    • Responsible for nice displays in the shop, promotions, buying, pricing, and stocking of the shop
    • Develop strategies to meet sales targets and plan promotions to attract customers

    Additional Information:
    • Position is full-time 40 hours per week
    • This is a day shift position
    • Weekends are optional only on occasion and based on holiday promotions, or at shop manager’s request
