Your Role:

As the Manager of Plant Accounting, you will be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across various functions. You'll collaborate closely with key stakeholders to drive organizational success and support our plant operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizational Interaction

• Collaborate: Partner with VPs of Sales and Operations, Business Controller, and Plant Managers to develop a seamless management team.
• Coordinate: Work with Office Admin to ensure timely and accurate AP/AR functions, production entry, inventory accounting, and month-end procedures.
• Support: Assist with customer service and office functions, including order entry, pricing accuracy, and price increase implementation.
• Analyze: Provide ad hoc analysis support and assistance to Plant Managers and Business Controller.

Financial Activities & Analysis

• Inventory Management: Ensure accurate and timely month-end inventory counts, approve adjustments, and lead inventory variance reviews.
• Optimization: Review and improve Bill of Materials and assist in product offering optimization.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in month-end financial reporting and analysis.
• Cost Analysis: Review and communicate product/customer margins, provide cost/pricing analysis, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Month-End Closing: Support critical month-end closing activities such as billing/invoicing, inventory accuracy, and A/P accruals.
• AR Collection: Monitor and follow-up on past-due accounts and prepare weekly summaries for Sales/Ops meetings.
• Order Management: Review and communicate open order details and maintain past-due orders log.
• Sales Commissions: Calculate and distribute monthly sales commissions.
• Cash Transactions: Initiate bank wire transfers and cash transactions as needed.

Office Admin Activities

• Payroll: Review and approve weekly/bi-weekly timesheets, driver payroll logs, and payroll recaps.
• HR Support: Process new hire and termination paperwork, maintain employee vacation logs, and provide general HR assistance.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience: Manufacturing, Homebuilding, or Construction experience desired, but not required.
• Expertise: Proven experience as an accounting manager or financial analyst.
• Skills: Advanced computer skills on MS Office (Excel, Word), Accounting software, and databases. PowerBI and/or JD Edwards preferred but not required.
• Analytical Abilities: Ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data.
