Plant Controller establishes and maintains the plant's financial principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Oversees the maintenance of fiscal records and preparation of financial reports. Being a Plant Controller analyzes and interprets cost, budget, policies and profit opportunity trends and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Establishes procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with all relevant government and industry legislation and regulations. Additionally, Plant Controller typically reports to a CFO or top management. Requires CPA. Requires bachelor's degree. The Plant Controller manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Plant Controller typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Progressive, growth-oriented manufacturing company, PAC Worldwide, is looking for an experienced Plant Controller who can drive the day to day accounting processes, internal controls, costing, and financial reporting for the company and its shareholders. As a member of the management team this person must possess strong organization, analytical, technology and communication skills. This person must have the ability to work well with the management team involving internal cost accounting and management reporting, and financial, accounting and administrative matters. Cycle Counter/Inventory Analyst will report to the Plant Controller.
    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
    Technical Responsibilities
    • Oversee the accounting related to manufacturing in compliance with U.S. GAAP
    • Manage the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions including monthly financial statement presentation, annual budget preparation, lead the cycle counting and physical inventories, and coordinating year-end audit activities
    • Responsible for review of transaction and costing accuracy across all database functions and menus.
    • Conduct ongoing audit of transactional and master records for validity, workflow qualifications and cost impact
    • Provide business analysis, forecasting and budgeting for the manufacturing organization
    • Responsible for making recommendations for financial and operational improvements
    • Responsible for developing and analyzing cost-of-goods information
    • Performing periodic costing studies on products/equipment.
    • Ensure that production Work Orders by product SKUs are fully burdened with appropriate costs in compliance with corporate cost model, and the regular investigation, resolution and reporting of actual-to-standard variances
    • Maintain and make recommendations to improve our system of internal accounting controls as they relate to inventory and manufacturing
    • Work within our existing ERP system and lead efforts to recommend and implement any expansions or changes to this system
    • Responsible for developing ERP and process training curriculum, assessing where gaps exist and conducting training for ongoing continuous improvement
    • Responsible for ongoing continuous improvement of accounting and administrative functions through development and adherence to practices set forth in Delegation of Authority document

    Analyst Responsibilities
    • Process improvements using Lean tools; As-is & To-Be flowcharting
    • Querying data from SQL databases to improve visibility to data for various company stakeholders
    • Project management includes creating project plans using PM software, monitor progress, and report results
    • Work within our existing ERP system (Infor Visual Mfg.) and assist in efforts to implement a new ERP system (MS D365)

    Management Responsibilities
    • Form strong working relationships and become a trusted adviser to the Operations team
    • Provide leadership and direction, developing workload assignments, monitoring activities, training, and motivating staff to perform at highest level
    • Responsible for documentation of processes, systems, internal controls, and reviews against 'Best Practices' for operations, warehousing, distribution, and administration
    • Passionate about coaching and training the team; effective at setting individual and team goals which help develop team member

    Qualifications:
    Education and/or Experience:
    • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Accounting/Finance or similar
    • 5 years of experience in a process manufacturing environment with specific experience in cost accounting is required
    • Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment is required
    • Knowledge of accounting statements and financial reporting experience in a ERP environment is strongly encouraged
    • Excellent analytic skills; highly proficient in pulling information from SQL databases. Excel-based modeling with strong computer skills are also required
    • Ability to operate both strategically (big picture) and operationally (small picture) is expected
    • Must interact well in a team environment and demonstrate interpersonal relations by displaying a positive customer service attitude


    Language Skills:
    • Must be capable of speaking, reading and writing English with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.


    Technical Skills: (preferred not required)
    • SQL-query skills
    • BI tools (Qlikview, MS Power Query)
    • ERP - technical understanding, ability to troubleshoot. Example systems - SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Visual Mfg, MS Dynamics


    Reasoning Ability:
    • Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to use good judgment and ask questions as needed.


    Computer Skills:
    • Experience with accounting software systems required, Visual and MS D365 a plus
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook


    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
    • CPA Preferred but not required
