Our client is seeking to hire Plant Controller that will be responsible for all accounting activity at Putnam, CT site. This position will be a valued business partner who will lead and manage all general & cost accounting activities. You will be instrumental in establishing analytics and metrics to critically review performance of the business and proactively identify improvement opportunities. We are looking for a change agent willing to roll up their sleeves and make changes that will benefit the future of the organization. Your duties include but not limited to the following:
Month-end close
Budgeting, Forecasting, Analytics, etc
Inventory
Cost Accounting
Process Improvement
· Partnering with management team to establish and implement goals/KPI's to drive results.
· Adhere to policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· Leads financial closing process for the site ensuring all deliverables are met.
· Quickly understands the value streams within the site and the financial components. (Volume, overhead cost, labor cost, standards, yields, efficiency, etc.)
· Prepares and presents daily/weekly/monthly financial results including KPI's and monthly financial performance package to site operational team.
· Using general cost and accounting principles; will be able to provide in-depth understanding of key operational metrics to support financial reporting.
· Coordinates and leads the preparation of the annual budget process for site including operational budgets at the cost center level.
· Performs periodic review of Master Data items and coordinate material status updates as required.
· Evaluate and improve to fully utilize ERP functions.
Qualifications:
· BS in Accounting - CMA or advanced degree is desired but not required.
· 5-10 years of relevant experience.
· Manufacturing experience to include plant operations / accounting / inventory control.
· Ability to prepare financial reports, statements and projections and present results.
· Continuous Process Improvement mindset with knowledge & application of lean tools.
· Ability to balance multiple priorities and determine prioritization.
· Fluency in Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Etc) as well as strong knowledge of ERP systems.
