Job Summary:
PIC Group has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Plant Manager who will oversee, manage, and direct the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of a manufacturing facility located in Northeast Ohio. The Plant Manager reports to the regionally located General Manager and is responsible for the proper function and overall plant performance of 25MW Gas Cogeneration facility. The Plant Manager will have full responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the facility, be adept at managing and prioritizing multiple projects at once, as well as be a proven self-directed professional.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs day-to-day operation and maintenance activities.
- Acts as the primary liaison on matters pertaining to daily operations to include scheduling of production levels.
- Ensure the facility is operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner that aligns with the core values of the owner as well as all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop and oversee the annual Operations & Maintenance budget.
- Schedule and coordinate major maintenance and contractor activity, aligning with all production requirements.
- Prepare periodic status reports describing operating performance concerns as well as forecast future performance.
- Implement a planned maintenance program that monitors predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities, documenting such activities with work orders and similar processes.
- Conduct or arrange periodic training for all plant personnel that focuses on all technical, safety, environmental and supervisory topics.
- Ensure all employees and contractors abide by established policies and procedures that pertain to plant safety and environmental stewardship.
- Works with Director of Operations and all operations support personnel to review and implement best practices throughout the organization.
Job Requirements:
- Firm knowledge of the regulatory processes under which the facility operates.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of powerhouse equipment and systems, including but not limited to, chillers, electrical distribution, heat exchangers, hot water distribution, chemical treatment equipment, transformers, motors, pumps, piping/valves, instrumentation and control systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of staff and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Work independently or as part of a team without significant supervision
- Previous working experience in the development and management of an operating & maintenance budget.
- Promote and maintain strong working relationships with coworkers, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and customers.
Physical Requirements:
- Duties require walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of time, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to use protective equipment correctly (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, safety shoes, gloves, vests, etc.).
Education / Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 15 years supervisory or managerial experience in the operation, maintenance and administration of powerhouses, utility systems or similar plant assets, or
- Associate degree or industry-recognized certificate in a related discipline with 10 years supervisory or managerial experience in in the operation, maintenance and administration of powerhouses, utility systems or similar plant assets, or 2 years of military experience at an officer level, or
- Bachelor degree with 7 years supervisory or managerial experience in the operation, maintenance and administration of powerhouses, utility systems or similar plant assets.
