Plant General Manager directs, manages, and optimizes a plant or production facility's overall operations and financial performance (P&L). Sets policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant General Manager systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals. Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant General Manager ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Leads labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Oversees multi-functional plant teams including finance, engineering, materials, quality assurance, and human resources. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, finance or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Plant General Manager manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Plant General Manager typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Ability to frequently stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or carry heavy objects no more than 50 pounds
    • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed
    • Willingness to work various weather elements including cold, heat, wind, rain, etc
    • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
    • Respectable mechanical skills
    • Hands on experience in an ability to deliver excellent customer service
    • Knowledge of ag technology tools
    • Self-motivated with a strong initiative
    • Solid decision making and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience and knowledge of feed production or similar manufacturing
    • Proven leadership experience in a team environment
    • Independent Work Ethic


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Valid Driver’s License, with acceptable driving record
    • Forklift Certified
    • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or equivalent experience
    • Previous Feed Experience

    • Develop, maintain and monitor standard operating procedures for all processes

    • Maintain and enhance ongoing training of production employees on equipment operation, set-up, troubleshooting and process optimization
    • Maintain feed tags and inspect for accuracy
    • Make recommendations to improve production, safety, quality and cost savings
    • Manage the employees at the facility in a manner that maximizes the safety, quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the operation
    • Monitor and adjust settings on baggers, hangers, sewing machines, robotic palletizers, pellet mill etc. To achieve maximum performance and efficiency
    • Promote the vision of customer focus
    • Provide a safe work environment for all employees, an effective facility to meet product specifications and an efficient operation that can meet cost and service expectations
    • Responsible for all plant maintenance
    • Responsible for execution of the daily production schedule
    • Review and investigate feed and drug assays
    • Supervise and motivate employees as needed
    • Supervise production activities, check and sign off on daily production reports, check run yields, sequencing, flushing, etc
    • Abide by all safety regulations to ensure safety of oneself, coworkers and customers
    • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Frequently required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
