Plant Manager for Recycling Yard
General Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Yuma Recyclers is seeking a proven leader to fill the role of Plant Manager. The Plant Manager oversees all matters related to the operations of Yuma Recyclers' yard. In this position, the Plant Manager is in charge of purchasing, consolidating, and shipping recyclable metal, paper, and plastic grades. The Plant Manager must maintain the customer-focused environment of the recycling yard and the company’s performance objectives.

To that end, the Plant Manager must be able to balance efficient production with safe operation. The successful manager will have a proven ability to effectively manage personnel and maintain the dynamic company culture. Supervisor: COO, located off-site
Essential Functions:
◊ Identify materials and their value in order to purchase material from prospective suppliers
◊ Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes
◊ Supervise the employees in the various activities of the recycling yard
◊ Schedule, train, and support personnel to ensure smooth operations
◊ Manage the maintenance of the facility and the equipment
◊ Organize the training for all processes of the facility and reinforce safety culture
◊ Manage budget to align with goals of the business
◊ Maintain quality, cash, and inventory controls
◊ Comply with all OSHA, DEQ, and Dept of Labor regulations and company EHS policies
Work Environment:
◊ The work is both outdoors and indoors; may experience extreme weather
◊ Work time will be divided between the yard, the office, and clients
◊ As the site handles waste materials, the work can be dirty
◊ The Plant has 8 people working a staggering single shift 6 days/week
◊ The employee and customer demographics are varied, so tact and sensitivity are needed
Qualifications: Specifications:
◊ Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience required
◊ High School diploma required
◊ Bilingual literacy in Spanish and English required
◊ Ability to present in meetings and speak in front of people required
◊ Computer skills required: Outlook or similar email, Excel or similar spreadsheets, database
◊ Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record required
◊ Availability to work extra hours, including weekends, as is needed for management
◊ Knowledge of machines and periodic maintenance required
◊ Familiarity with OSHA regulations required
◊ Customer service skills required
◊ Experience in scrap/waste industry preferred
◊ Cash handling experience is a benefit
