Plant General Manager directs, manages, and optimizes a plant or production facility's overall operations and financial performance (P&L). Sets policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. Being a Plant General Manager systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals. Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement. Additionally, Plant General Manager ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Leads labor relations negotiations and engages with union leadership involving plant operations. Menzner Hardwoods Co. is seeking an experienced and confident Plant Manager for our West Union, South Carolina facility. This facility employs approximately 15 employees and produces dry lumber for use in our manufacturing facilities. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager – Lumber.
Position Summary:
This Plant Manager position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of plant and the employees. Their duties include hiring and training manufacturing plant employees, reviewing production records to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and coordinating with headquarters to enforce changes to plant budgets or safety procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Skills & Qualifications:
· High school degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in business management, business, or related field preferred; Master's in business administration or management a plus
· 3 years' previous experience as a plant manager, supervisor, or related position
· Experience with drying and handling hardwood lumber preferred
· Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
· Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
· Strong management skills with the ability to supervise multiple teams
· Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures
· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
· Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills
· Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds
· Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
· In-depth knowledge of industry and its place in the market
· Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
