Plant Maintenance Manager oversees the plans for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Plant Maintenance Manager leads inspection to ensure an effective preventative maintenance procedure and framework. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Plant Maintenance Manager utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Manages spare parts inventory to ensure the availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Plant Maintenance Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain safe work environment.
2. Perform grounds care.
3. Perform work to prevent premature deterioration of building grounds and equipment.
4. Work in cooperation with in-house department's and approved contractors.
5. Perform emergency work when required after hours
6. Participate in all safety trainings as directed.
7. Perform duties assigned as a member of the grounds care team.
8. Perform landscaping chores and cleanup of school grounds
9. Assist in providing the necessary safeguards to prevent loss of school property
10. Use equipment including but not limited to:
a. Vehicles and trailers
b. Hand and power tools of the lawn care trade
c. Light duty grounds care equipment
d. Typical non specialized construction and repair tools
11. Other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Contract Days: Temporary summer position with hours dictated by the needs of the district.
2. Work hours will be adjusted as needed, including nights and weekends. Overtime paid for total weekly hours beyond 40 hours per week.
