Plant Superintendent supervises and coordinates workers' activities in all phases of plant operations. Develops and manages production and maintenance schedules to meet internal volume, cost, and quality goals. Being a Plant Superintendent utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity, identify issues, and achieve production goals. Troubleshoots operational, materials, equipment, and staffing problems and coordinates solutions. Additionally, Plant Superintendent implements plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA and other required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Plant Superintendent manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Plant Superintendent typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Data Consultant 4 - Student Information- Program Support
    $65,748 - $88,416 annually

    The Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) seeks to fill Data Consultant 4 - Student Information- Program Support. This full-time permanent position is based in Olympia, Washington. This position may be eligible for partial to near full-time telework. Telework is a combination of in-building and off-site days.     Position Overview
    Under the direction of the Director of Student Information – Program Support, this position provides essential data analysis of student-level data and data-related support primarily to offices and programs within OSPI. It will, at times, work to support school districts and other education partners. This position is required to work closely with OSPI program staff to understand their unique data need and to ensure they have data analyses that are meaningful and useful to understanding and improving their programs. The responsibilities of this position impact project timelines, data quality, and the ability of OSPI leaders to analyze and report data in an accurate and timely manner.

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Request Fulfillment
    • Maintain and modify, as necessary, existing code to analyze and report on all aspects of student data.
    • Extract data from a variety of sources to develop accurate and meaningful reports for a variety of programs.
    • Include data aggregation and disaggregation by student enrollment, demographics, and student outcomes.
    • Ensure data is valid and, when appropriate, apply disclosure avoidance techniques.

    OSPI Program Support
    • Work closely with OSPI programs to create a plan to meet program-specific needs, including exploratory data analysis, reporting tools, outcomes and/or legislative reporting, and research and evaluation activities.

    Data Sharing
    • Communicate all aspects of data elements to requestors and program teams clearly and concisely.
    • Ensure that all data provided is as easy as possible to understand and visually appealing so that it is informative to all Washingtonians.

    Maintain Reports
    Maintain, analyze, and produce analysis, reports, data visualizations, and research briefs on all areas of student information that are priorities for OSPI, school districts, or the legislature.

    Required Qualifications:
    • A bachelor’s degree in business, management, accounting, economics, statistics, computer or information science, education, or the social sciences.

    AND

    • At least 3-years’ experience in data management, data analysis, research/evaluation

    OR

    • A combination of education and related professional work experience may be considered year for year.


    In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

    • Skill in writing queries for data verification and quality assurance purposes and to create analysis-ready data tables.

    • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills with a range of audiences ranging from technical users of data to the public who may have limited understanding of the State Education Agency, education data, or the applicant’s respective field.

    • Skill in performing descriptive statistical calculations and data manipulations.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in economics, statistics, education, or the social sciences.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect with a variety of people in a multicultural, diverse socio-economic setting.

    • Experience with TSQL, R, and Tableau

    • Skill in visualizing data for diverse audiences

    • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

    • Knowledge of the public K-12 system data system.

    • Ability to write clear, concise, and useful technical documentation.

    • Ability to work under pressure, organize, prioritize, and multi-task to meet established deadlines.

    • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.

    Compensation
    The annual compensation for the position is $65,748 - $88,416 per year and depends upon experience, educational background and qualifications. Geographic differentials may be applied based on work location of successful candidate. Washington State offers a generous benefit package including health, dental and life insurance, retirement and an optional deferred compensation program.
