SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience. • A minimum of three years’ work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience. • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel. • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff. • Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems. • Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Club Director position is responsible for daily operations with a primary focus in establishing & overseeing planning, development, implementation, evaluation, data management, facilities management, community relations and membership administration and direct supervision/delivery of a broad range of programs for youth between the ages of 6 and 18. Must be able to oversee and evaluate staff, conduct, lead and support staff in the implementation of evidence based accountable programs and this includes the Formula for Impact.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Leadership
1. Establish programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
2. Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
3. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation; including all grant supported programs
Strategic Planning
4. Ensure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis.
5. Ability to lead the organizational strategic plan in a positive direction, influencing staff and volunteers to ensure strategic planning goals are met.
Program Outcome & Evaluation
6. Lead and implement planning, development, and evaluation of Club programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet the stated priority outcomes and member needs. Make sure program areas have a safe and positive environment that supports the three priority outcome areas throughout the Club.
7. Plans and oversees the administration of club-wide programs and activities that support Boys & Girls Club movement - Three Priority Outcome areas and Five Key Club Characteristics.
8. Oversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards, goals, program calendars, schedules and program plans.
9. Ensures that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills. All Club programs are developed with fun in mind.
10. Oversees discipline and guidance procedures implemented by staff and work to ensure consistency in the rules and expectations throughout the Club. Rules are clearly visible to youth in all program areas and throughout the Club.
11. Demonstrates leadership to ensure proper conduct, safety, and development of other staff.
12. Convey caring and proper guidance in ongoing interactions with members, parents, volunteers, and staff that demonstrates responsiveness and connectedness by creating a positive environment.
13. Work closely with staff to ensure membership tracking is current
14. Ensure planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of Clubs overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation.
Resource Management
15. Manage financial resources. Control expenditures against budget.
16. Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the physical properties and equipment of the Club, including use of facilities by outside groups.
17. Conduct regular staff meetings.
Partnership Relations
18. Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations.
19. Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community.
Health and Safety
20. Ensure a healthy and safe environment on all Club property, during transportation, and during offsite activities.
21. Ensure that facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained in every area of the Club.
22. Regularly communicate and document any health or safety concerns to the Director of Operations daily and/or as they occur. (The priority is to always prevent unsafe and unhealthy environments)
