Police Patrol Officer jobs in Meridian, ID

Police Patrol Officer is responsible for patrolling an assigned area to prevent and discover crime and to enforce regulations. Responsible for responding to calls, taking necessary action at the scene of crime or disturbance, conducting investigations, making arrests, testifying in court, and completing reports/forms and routine paperwork. Being a Police Patrol Officer requires an associate degree in criminal justice and/or additional certifications and at least 12 to 18 months of law enforcement experience. Requires Firearms Certification. Additionally, Police Patrol Officer typically reports to a police sergeant. The Police Patrol Officer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Police Patrol Officer typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    Your Shift
    9:00pm - 7:00am 4 on/4 off rotating

    What You'll Do

    • Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of designated areas
    • Provide customer service to all clientele, customers, vendors, and members of the public
    • Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures
    • Identify potential security risks and respond accordingly
    • Complete incident reports and daily activity reports
    • Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing buildings (ID badges and passes)
    • Follow required procedures, to respond promptly to emergencies and incidents within designated areas
    • Wear Peak issued uniform
    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Requirements

    • At least 21 years old
    • Citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
    • Clean background and ability to pass a pre-hire drug screen
    • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record in the last 5 years
    • Must have a cell phone to communicate with our dispatch team (your safety is just as important!)
    • Ability to comfortably alternate between running, walking, climbing stairs, getting in and out of a vehicle, bending, and kneeling for duration of shift
    • Customer service oriented
    • Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends or attend special trainings/meetings outside of normal shift
