Additionally, Policy Change Director typically reports to top management. The Policy Change Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Accountant Key Responsibilities
· Manage and coordinate financial reporting and accounting functions for multi-entity enterprise
· Assist in the day-to-day activities of the accounting department
· Adhere to month-end closing schedule as well as timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
· Prepare internal and external ad hoc reports as may be required
· General ledger and bank reconciliation
· Participate in the upgrade of accounting system and the design of new procedures and methodologies
· Keep all policies and processes current and documented as well as promote continuous streamlining of processes
· Help establish and monitor internal controls
· Assist in the coordination and preparation of financial audits, examinations, reviews, etc. of the organization in conjunction with outside CPA firm(s)
· Coordinate and communicate effectively with executive team
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
· 3 years accounting experience at a public accounting firm, an internal accounting department, or a combination of both preferred
· Independent Insurance Experience a huge plus
· Excellent computer skills, including Excel and Word
· Experience with standard financial accounting software (QBO, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
· Knowledge of appropriate management and supervisory skills preferred
