Polysomnographic Technician jobs in Altoona, PA
Polysomnographic Technician under the direction of a physician, administers various sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders. Performs routine patient assessments, scores sleep records, documents other test results, and collects and transmits biological specimens for analysis. Being a Polysomnographic Technician typically requires an associate degree or its equivalent and certification as a Polysomnographic Technician. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. AS A SLEEP TECHNICIAN, you will measure electrical activity of a patient's brain waves and other physiological variables, using a polysomnograph, to aid physician in diagnosis and treatment of disorders.Other information:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have completed a Polysomnographic Tech, Respiratory Therapy, or Practical Nursing Program (preferred)
- Have a Polysomnographic Technician Certification (preferred)
- Be a Registered Polysomnographic Technician (preferred)
- Have 2 years of Polysomnographic experience (preferred)
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
- Have ability to pass PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- Have ability to pass Criminal Background Check
