The Portfolio Manager reviews the customer's goals and develops investment strategies that will attain and support those objectives with acceptable risk. Responsible for managing, evaluating, and monitoring key or complex investment portfolios comprised of bonds, securities, and equity funds in a banking environment. Being a Portfolio Manager monitors daily investment activities to be aware of market changes. Considers legal and tax impact of investment decisions. In addition, Portfolio Manager may manage a team of portfolio manages. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1. Being a Portfolio Manager gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Reports to: Chief Trust & Investment Officer

    Date: March 31, 2023

    Summary/Objective

    The Portfolio Manager is responsible for tracking the performance and information related to individual securities, recommending changes to the Trust Buy List and performing quarterly portfolio reviews.

    Primary Functions

    1. Manage approved list of securities: track performance and information concerning individual securities, recommend/make changes to trust security lists.
    2. Perform quarterly allocation and performance reviews for portfolios.
    3. Monitor performance and risk of “model”/ETF portfolios. Recommend changes to model portfolio allocations and security selection. Responsible for rebalancing models.
    4. Review investments and recommended changes for retirement plans; prepare review materials for plan sponsors.
    5. Manage investments for portfolios.
    6. Execute trading of securities for portfolios.
    7. Meet with clients and prospects to discuss investment choices and performance.
    8. Prepare material for annual client reviews and track client goals where applicable. Responsible for administrative reviews.

    Secondary Functions

    1. Create/provide information for high-touch Wealth Management clients.
    2. Serve as administrator on trust accounts as assigned.

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work outside of this schedule may be required as job duties demand.

    Travel
    Minimal travel is expected for this position.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. High School Graduate or GED and either Associate’s Degree or 4 years of related experience.
    2. Strong verbal/written skills.
    3. Effective time management and organizational skills.
    4. Effective interpersonal skills.
    5. Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word.
    6. Must be able to work alone or in a team environment.
    7. Ability to manage confidential information.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s Degree or more than 5 years of related experience.
    2. Three or more years of experience in accounting, trust administration and/or banking.
    3. Power Point skills.
