    Role Summary:

    The Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager position will be responsible for managing an existing portfolio of commercial loans or helping commercial loan officers with their existing portfolios.  This position will be responsible for completing all annual financial reviews and problem loan reports.  The PM will conduct their own underwriting of annual reviews from the existing portfolios they are managing. Maintaining asset quality and monitoring is essential to the success of the commercial lending department.  This position also could develop commercial lending skills focused on underwriting, portfolio management, and business development. 

     

    What You Will Be Doing:

    1. Maintain asset quality and portfolio monitoring of an existing commercial loan portfolio.   
    2. Call on member businesses to maintain existing relationships creating member loyalty to the Credit Union.
    3. Complete annual credit reviews of commercial loans to assess the overall financial condition and member’s ability to re-pay the loan.
    4. Complete problem loan reports on commercial loans that are classified as Watch or below.
    5. Make credit approval recommendations to the appropriate approval authority that promotes safe and sound credit underwriting and prudent lending practices.
    6. Assist with maintaining collateral perfection of commercial loans within the portfolio.
    7. Assist with ensuring quality of draw administration for existing commercial loans/lines of credit.
    8. Provide guidance to the commercial loan processor in the completion of all loan documents and business loan closings.
    9. Assist in collection of past due loans.
    10. Monitor existing loan portfolio to ensure credit quality and regulatory compliance.
    11. Maintain up-to-date credit files including current financial information deemed necessary and in accordance with the business loan agreement.
    12. Assist members with any business loan related questions and concerns.
    13. Assist the Commercial Systems & Portfolio Management Manger/Team Lead with special projects and assignments. 
    14. Maintain an understanding of the Credit Union Policies and member business lending operating procedures and guidelines.
    15. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences and seminars as approved by supervisor to expand professional knowledge.
    16. Maintain awareness of industry lending laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
    17. Demonstrate support of corporate values, mission and vision. Perform job duties within these standards and in accordance with the guidelines of our bylaws and regulations.
    18. Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism.  Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge.
    19. Display mutual respect, trust and dignity, acting in the best interest of the Credit Union. Lead by example by always displaying solid ethics and integrity.

    Qualifications


    What You Will Need:

    1. Four-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school preferred, but not required, or equivalent experience.
    2. Experience in loan underwriting, financial analysis, and accounting.  Completion of a specialized course of study at a business, trade school, or equivalent experience, preferred but not required.
    3. Commercial lending experience or related experience analyzing business financial statements and assessing the financial position of a viable business entity, is preferred but not required.
    4. Must possess excellent communication and public relations skills.
    5. Proficiency with standard office equipment, MS Office and Outlook software, financial analysis software, and other commercial lending platforms.
    6. Some travel may be required to fulfill duties, career development, and/or responsibilities.
