Postdoctorate Scientist performs scientific research in collaboration with a research team. Primarily a temporary position. Being a Postdoctorate Scientist requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Postdoctorate Scientist works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Education:
Requires a PhD in a scientific discipline or a Master degree in a scientific discipline
Licenses/Certifications:
Not necessary, but would be beneficial.
Skills/Abilities:
Reading, writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact well with other departments. Has full understanding of and ability to apply established principles, theories and concepts in area of responsibility, together with a working knowledge of related disciplines. Projects require familiarity with current scientific literature together with capability to select methods and techniques for obtaining solutions within broadly defined practices and procedures. May be involved in teams, which include participation from other sections and/or divisions. May provide guidance to less senior personnel. May assume leading role in providing solutions to difficult, though defined, problems associated with specific projects.
Experience:
Requires a PhD in a scientific discipline and a minimum of 3-5 years' experience or MS with 5 years' experience in a research environment. Expert knowledge of scientific principles and concepts is also required.
