Plant Support Supervisor

As a Plant Support Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of our operation, driving excellence in Safety, Quality, and Productivity.

Basic Job Functions :

Lead Production Control : Responsible for leading the production control team, which is responsible for transferring job data from the detailing department to the production team.

This involves work in our ERP system, material batching, document preparation, production scheduling, and schedule smoothing.

Work closely with production leadership to find new ways to improve efficiency through run order, material batching, and order scheduling.

• Fueling Efficiency : Bring your skill for process improvement to the table as you identify ways to streamline operations and save costs, travel and benchmark best practices.
• Building Team Unity : Foster a culture of collaboration within our division, ensuring every teammate feels valued and heard.
• Innovating Staffing Solutions : Be proactive! Lead the charge on organizing marketing initiatives, events, and interviews to meet our evolving staffing needs.
• Serve as Recruiting Coordinator for Production : Train other teammates to assist in recruiting, attend career fairs, class visits, mock interview training, and other opportunities in local high schools, colleges, and any other opportunities to get exposure to potential teammates.

Coordinate with other members of the leadership team to take a division approach to recruiting.

• Empowering Your Team : Your leadership matters. Guide teammates to success through consistent performance reviews and professional growth planning.
• Driving the Schedule : Keep things running like clockwork by overseeing the production schedule with precision and foresight.
• Engineering Excellence : Work hand-in-hand with our production teams to coordinate schedules, plan material needs, and implement equipment upgrades for optimal efficiency.
• Lead Facility and Process Improvement Projects : Investigate opportunities for automation integration. Gain a thorough understanding of our process and material flow and investigate ways to reduce the amount of hands-on material handling and crane use, creating a safer process for our team.

Investigate justification for new equipment to improve safety, quality, & efficiency. Lead the execution and implementation of new equipment and process in partnership with the Production Line Supervisor.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications :

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• 2 years of people leadership experience.
• 2 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to work as team leader on project with an aptitude for problem solving.
• Ability to travel for training and best marking.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Ability to work multiple shifts.
• Experience in a similar role or industry.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement.
